How to Pack and Move Everything in Your Bathroom

Since it’s one of the smaller rooms in your home, the bathroom might seem like one of the easiest to pack when you’re moving. However, since there are smaller items like brushes and bottles with liquids in them, it can sometimes be a challenge to determine how to pack everything. Here are a few tips that you can follow when you’re packing so that everything is organized throughout your move.

Take What You Need

Make a bag of the essential items that you’ll need when you arrive at your new home. Keep this bag with you in your vehicle so that it doesn’t get packed in a box. These items include shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and any medications that you take regularly. Toilet paper, deodorant, and other toiletries that you use daily should be included in this bag as well. When you pack items that have liquids in them, put them in a plastic bag that you can seal. Try to keep this bag near you in the vehicle or on top of a box instead of packing it between other items in a box. Try to put everything from your bathroom together when you’re packing. This should also be the last room in your house that you pack since it does have more of the items that you frequently use.

Toss It

As you pack one room after another, you might come across clothes that you can’t wear or that other family members can’t wear as well as items that you just don’t need any longer. Moving is a time when you can get rid of the things that you no longer need, making packing much faster and physically moving items easier. Items that are still usable can be donated or sold, and items that are torn or damaged can be thrown away. Some of the items that you think that you should throw away can be used for other purposes, such as older towels for cleaning cloths. The tiny pieces of soap in your shower can be used to put in bathwater for bubbles. If you see items that don’t have a label, then throw them away. Old makeup should also be thrown away because it can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

Place Items Into Boxes

Most of the items that are in your bathroom are probably not heavy. This will make it easier to lift the boxes that you pack and transport them from one vehicle to another and to the inside your new home. If there are items in your bathroom that are breakable, then put cloths or newspaper around them to keep them from hitting other belongings that are in the box. Toiletry bags are good to use for small items that might get lost. Towels and washcloths can usually be packed in one large box and still not be too heavy to lift.
